Is there anyone out there within reasonable striking distance of Notts who has these fitted and who would be kind enough to allow me to sit on his/her bike to check how close my knees would come to the bars ?

Must be worth a pint I guess !

I'm not in reasonable striking distance of Notts but if you ever coming to London (by any chance) in the next few weeks let me know and i could meet you somewhere along the Thames.

Thanks for the offer....I will bear it in mind.

Bristol here, bit too far from Nottingham for you.

But, FYI, I'm 6 foot tall, with slightly long legs for that height. I find the bars just brush my knees, but not in an uncomfortable way.

Thanks for the info.

Just reinforces the view that I need to sit on a bike with them fitted.

I'm in Manchester which is 70 miles from you. I will be on the Adventure-Spec stand with my bike on the stand at the dirt bike show from November 5-8th. It's held near Coventry which is only 50 miles from you :comfort

Why not go into your local dealer they are bound to have a GSA demo to sit on, surely the position of the bars will be the same regardless whether fitted to GS or GSA?

brianmaslen - the bars in question are aftermarket and designed specifically for the 800. your suggestion would not therefore work.
