On planning to ride the 1150GSA back from Saudi to rural Cheshire, I am looking into what to take, how to pack, etc.
For long distance touring, is it worth using the aluminium topbox (which in itself is heavy) or, just use the back rack for camping gear and sundries, and leaving the important stuff in the side boxes?

Thanks

I'll go for rollpack IMHO.

The top box is a bit "perched" on the end and any serious weight in it + any serious deflections on the road = cracked frame.

Also you can un bunjee the roll pack and straight into the hotel, you can't do that with the topbox (well you can but...)
