Hi,
If you want some advice - pm ya phone number, or even better skype address and can give you some good info re places to go, good places to stay and routes. Brasov is my home most of the time now...
no charge - though you could always buy me a beer if we meet!
Its easier to talk than type!

Regards
Gavin

Never realized there are so many compadres on this forum , fancy a get together and some peach brandy ?

Travelled through Romania two years ago and loved it. Favourite bit was north of Pitesti through the Carpathian Meridionali to Turda and Cluj Napoca and then back to Turda and up the Turda gorge before going on to Oradea. People great and roads variable. Turda gorge road exciting:augie:augie. Despite below some of the friendliest people we met were gypsies. Fondest memory was 1/2 an hour waiting at a level crossing (I've never complained about Railtrack since) with a number of gypsy families. Spent the whole time desperately trying to communicate resulting in hilarious dialogue.

A great country for a trip.

It was just a little fun you PC twat ,obviously you have not read the thread on the Scottish section ,Relocating to Scotland.

One word of warning , on Romanian maps some roads are marked as National roads , they can well turn out to be forestry roads , I went down on one of this roads . I was on a 1200RT which was interesting...
Do not worry about Gypsies , crime or having your bike stolen . Is more likely to happen in the UK , but basic precautions to be taken in large towns . Usual tactic is distraction by one or two people and a third will lift your wallet or slash your shoulder bag ( it happened to my friend in Timisoara ) .
Enjoy the trip .

PS. In Arad ( first large town when you cross from Hun.) is a good BMW dealer , speaks english .

Hi Rod, yep still a regular at Bella Muzica - still my favourite restaurant in Brasov!

And Zoltan - the idea of a tuica/palinka fuelled get together is not such a bad idea! But better closer to the source! Fancy a Transylvanian GS party? Maybe in the Saxon village area?
