Advice for American visitor

A friend of mine from USA is visiting UK and Ireland mid June, He is flying in and out of Heathrow, his aim is to rent a bike and tour UK & IRL for 4 weeks, 2 up so probably over 1000cc.

Any advice where to rent, pick up & return bike to Heathrow.
What insurance company or would the rental look after this.
Will his USA license do him here.

Not too sure about the mainland but if he is coming here i would recommend Phillip Mcallan in Lisburn which would mean your mate would need to fly into Belfast. And yes his license will cover him to ride in the uk for a certain amount of time.
 
Be cheaper if you did a deal with BMW dealership, bought the bike and agreed they'd by it back for X four weeks later.
Subject to mileage limit and condition.
You looking at 2.5 k sterling rental for 4 weeks plus add on's I reckon.

I will sell him my bike and Buy it back after the Period at an agreed price .
There would be considerations of course , I would imagine he would be able to insure it ,on an instalment basis here or UK ..
He can have a Choice of machinery ,
If its of any interest Pm me .
 
You can have my bike for £2000 for 4 weeks ( I'll walk ) only xtra is full insurance with 0 excess JJH
