This will be our first trip to Morroco so we need a bit of help for the following.
1. If we arrive in Ceuta around noon where should I book our first hotel and any recomendations ?
2. We will have 7 days , can you surgest a route that will give us a good insight into Morroco. We are riding 1200gs and TDM and have off road experiance but on smaller bikes ie 400 KTM.
3. In 7 days is there enough time to take in the ?Tizi n Tichka route?
regards Stuart

1) Arriving in Cueta at noon...head out along the coast towards Tetouan then follow the signs to Chefchaouan.....it's a lovely town and infinitely nicer than any of the port cities where the scum congregate.

3) Yes......you can get to Marrakech in 6 hours from Cueta easily, and the next day you could be at the top of the Tichka by lunchtime.
Stop at the Coq Hardi for a nice tagine and coffee on the way :thumb2
In fact, you could do Tizi N Tichka and Tizi N Test in a day if you started from Marrakech at a sensible time :thumb2

Thanks

Thanks, found Chefchaouen and will follow your advice, which route would you take from there? via Ouezzane ,Fez and the N8 all the way to Marrakech or east to Ketama then Fez.El Rachida and then following the n10 down to Ouarzazate. Also could you advise on sights that we must not miss, would be a shame to.
Thanks for your anticapated help, regards Stuart

Thanks, found Chefchaouen and will follow your advice,

If you want a beer then find this hotel in Chefchaouen, it's got a bar and is right next to the market which is worth a wander in the evening. We were told it was the only one with a bar :thumb2

Tis too an I should know!!!!!:D

Most people on their first trip do the loop Fes - Errachidia - Erfoud - Tinerhir - Gorges - Ouarzazate - Marrakech - Knenifra - Meknes (or reverse). Tizi 'n Tichka is best done south to north, Tizi 'n Test best done north to south.

However you'll spend a lot of time riding rather than exploring and chilling out. Get a copy of the 1:1,000,000 Michelin map for Morocco and compare it to the same scale map for the UK to get an appreciation of the distances you'll need to cover.

The places I always try to stop are Azrou (a friendly town in the Middle Atlas 50 miles below Fes) and BikersHome at Ouarzazate: http://www.bikershome.net
