I have a choice today of looking at a 99 850gs @30,000 miles for 2k and looking at a 2000 1150gs @16000 miles for£3750. I am unsure of what to go for. I had a 1150 GSA and sold it regrettably. Is there anyone who can give some advice before I go and look at either of these bikes. I need a commuter and bike that will last me for the next few years plus I'm worried that the 850 will not be powerful enough the other down side is that I would have to sell my ZX9R to pay for the 1150GS so would be down to one bike thanks in advance for any help.. cheers Russ

Don't underrate the 850, great bike and perfect for what your considering, gear ratios preferable to the 1150 IMPO.

Very personal decision but I know what I'd go for. :augie

Russ. your old bike is in good hands mate love it still nearly and year and 11000 miles later and only a clutch and gearbox bearings.:thumbgs

and for me it would be the 1150

Cheers for the advice

Forget wasting your money on the Remus, it won't be as powerful and have a weaker midrange....................a complete waste of time/money and effort

Standard is best on the 850/1150GS
