After reading all the threads i decided to change the spark plugs , quite straight forward really until I tried to get the plugs out ,
I bought a draper long shaft 16mm plug wrench , the slimmest I could find but no joy I couldnt get to them ,
can anyone point me in the right direction as to where I can find a spanner that actually fits , cheers

Maybe I am being naive.... but under the seat of my 12 year old 1100 I have a tool kit with a spark plug spanner and various other tools. Don't you get a tool kit with the 1200? :nenau

The standard toolkit with the 1200 is woeful.

If you ask nicely when you order they'll give you the upgraded kit which has it in IIRC.

I had the same problem. First attempt was to get the socket spun in a lathe. It fitted the aperture but the walls weakened and it didn't last long. I eventually got a BMW plug sucket from my dealer, which does the trick.
