Hi Folks

I'd like to fit another power socket to the beak (off side) of my 06 Adventure. Is there a socket already on the bike that you plug the new cable into ? And if so where is it ?

Andy idea on price of socket and cable ?

Cheers

Andy

You can buy the genuine extension socket from BMW if you're feeling flush, it connects in to the back of the existing socket and the cable runs along under the tank........your friendly dealer will however relieve you of around £30 for the privilege :augie

Hi Andy

I've got a genuine BMW socket and extension lead you could have never been out of the box bought it for my 07 reg but didn't get round to fitting.
I've a 09 reg now so won't fit as different plug, could let you have it for £20 p+p included

I bought a socket for the equivalent of 3 euro in a local car parts shop and wired it to a set of after market spot lights (soldering joints and then used insulation tape). The lights are fused and the live is tapped off the the main headlight so the socket is only live when the key is in the ignition. If done right, all wiring can be hidden uder the panels and fairing. Its a cheaper option :)

There's an auxilliary power connector just below the headstock. It's not easy to find as it's taped up if not in use. Do a search on here and you'll find lost of posts about it and exactly how to find it.
