Advice needed please! (KTM 950 Super Enduro R?)

There are a couple of them on ebay at the moment, one is good value with a fairly high mileage and the other is highly modded (also for sale on here) but highly priced as well.

thanks, i was on a waiting list for the £4650 one on ebay but it's sold!
I've seen th 'rally' one but it's not really my thing.

A friend of mine has one with 4000 miles on, he only really uses it as a fast road tool, offered him £5500 as its mint & i know how much he put into it with the akras and billet cases(?) on the engine

On the KTM forum there was a guy selling a few good 2nd hand bits you will probably want like a safari tank and a Black dog bash plate.

Might be worth getting them now if you are set on the SE and then get the bike later. 2nd hand parts are rare as rocking horse.........

In fact I think it is the guy that is selling the SE on ebay that you missed.

thanks

I'll have a look now

Have you ever put a pillion on he SE, occasionally the mrs likes to come with me rather than ride her bike.

I haven't, but I know people who have. I guess it is as you would expect, ok for a short journey but you are unlikely to be be going on a tour or camping for the weekend. They do not come as standard with rear foot pegs but they are the same as the adventure and SM ones, so easily obtainable if they are not already fitted. I have picked up a spare seat which I intend to get made more suitable for both rider and pillion i.e. wider, more comfortable seat pads. It is worth noting they share the same seat as the SMR (not the SM) so I got a rough one of ebay for £50.

my mates bike i made an offer on has the rear pegs with it.
Doubt i'd really take a pillion too far on it

What screen have you used & which can you use??

Thanks

There are a few options for screens.
1 - the small fly screen from an SM can added to the top of the headlight mask, it only adds a few inches, but some think that is enough.

2 - you can add a KTM screen from an SM or SMR (i think) which means drilling the mask and is quite effective.

3 - Puig do something similar, again needs some drilling and quite good - I had one of these originally. The Puig is quite good because it can be fixed in 3 different positions

4 - mine is home made from a 990/950 Adventure screen. It is cut down and then drilled to use the same mounting holes as the Puig. I have also added a small lip to the top. It is not that pretty, but it does work for me and I can sit at 120KPH fairly comfortably for long distances.

Superenduro R - Special

Dude if you want a Superenduro that has all the issues addressed already this is it and guess what it's mine and it's for sale.

Screen issue - sorted, Raid Designs Sweden Rally Kit fitted, minimum weight sacrifice kit weighs approx. 3.5 kg
Comfort - original seat lowered 1" and gel inserts installed, I previously had a 950 Adv and this is more comfortable
Touring - Wolfman pannier frames and G-it large rear rack fitted + Aux Fuel Tank fitted giving approx 8 litre extra fuel capacity
Stability - RTT Steering Stabilizer fitted - the SE has been described as one of the bikes that most benefits from a steering damper particularly for higher speed road work
Overall weight of this bike - probably around the same as the stock bike even with the extra tank and the Rally Kit due to the 2-1 exhaust conversion and the Carbon Fuel Can

Arbo

Thanks for the info, i've watched your build on the KTM forum
But i'm not keen on the rally front end.

I've been out today on a GSA and i am tempted in one, trying to arrange a test ride on an SE this weekend too
70% of my riding is on road, most of those single roads through the dales, which the GSA is perfect for

BUT

It doesn't look like a Super enduro!
Fingers crossed when i ride an SE this weekend i'll be convinced!!

Thanks

Got one today!!!

58 plate 4400 miles, Pics will come tomorrow, but it's spotless.
Got to nip out tonight for a very short 5 miles, and what a bike!

Looking forward to the Ryedale.
