Advice needed please...

I am running a fairly new PC on Windows XP and noticed the prompt saying "New program installed"!!! I looked at my programs and notice that Norton SCan has been added. I have never loaded Norton on my PC and definately do not want it as it is awful. I subscribe to ESET NOD32.

How did this program manage to load itself on my machine with being prompted to do so?? Is it a virus (havn't tried running it), there is no uninstall icon in the folder so how do I get rid of it?

When i right click and choose properties the "Target" window only says Norton Scan but is greyed out. All my other programs have the file path in this box???

Any suggestions.

Good call. When I tried to unload it it says "Another user is currently using Norton"...mmmmm A quick question to the nipper and he admits he downloaded it Its gone now.
