When i took the front wheel off recently to get a new tyre fitted i had to take the caliper bolts out to slide them back. In the handbook it says to loctite the bolts when re-fitted.Is this normal practice? or just erring on the side of safety.
I just put them back as i didn't have any loctite.Possibly a stupid question but if i take them out to put some on -do you just put a spot on or smear the threads?

Same arrangement on my 640 KTM and I never use loctite on them...don't be tempted to use copperslip either, I've seen bikes caliper's come off or loosen because of it.

Thanks Tim, Reckon i won't bother either.I don,t have a torque wrench to fit so just tightened them up and checked them once i,d ridden it.
I don't mind working on the DRZ but must admit to being a bit nervous on the KTM.

Just put my rebuilt wheels back on and i didnt loc tight the front cal bolts,we didnt do it last year to my mates either and got to the south of france and back no problemo....hth
