I would like to get a GPS that meets the following

Small, mobile phone size. Waterproof. Tough. Internal power, rechargeable or disposable batteries. Not complex, just something that could be turned on to give an exact location when off road and out in the wilds.

Thanks.

Garmin Quest 1 or 2, nothing else comes close in my view.

Broke mine and replaced it with a Zumo, great bit of kit but.....

The older b/w garmin legend. You can submerge it! My trusted device for over 6 years and many overland trips, which only died recently when it was forced into gravel at 50mph with the weight of my bike. About as close to indestructible as a gadget can get.

I've been using a Garmin Geko 201 recently - like this. Does what you ask for, small and light, good battery life, certainly splashproof (I do know someone who dropped one in the sea - it seems they sink! - on recovery, the batteries were dead but the unit still worked when shaken dry).

Garmin GPS 11 plus

Not exactly cool or cutting edge but does exactly what you want - looks like a Toblerone bar - 5" by 2" - runs on four AA batteries or bike power - connects to PC (or Psions!) for tracklog downloading - does not route but navigates between waypoints - has European basemap and also shows compass rose, speed, altitude etc

In fact you can have mine for P&P along with an external antenna, Psion connector, 12v power cable and dashboard mount. GPS Warehouse should be able to come up with a mount for the bike and perhaps a PC cable if required
