Advice on Alpinestars Tech 3 sizing/looking for s/h pair

I'm looking for some of these, and nowhere locally to me (Scarborough) seems to have any I can try on.

I'm a size 9UK/43 EU in 99% of shoes and boots, (except the Sidi Adv I have tried). So my question is how do the Tech 3's fit, and what size am I likely to need?

Some site's suggest I would be a US 10, but if they come up small as some stuff does (like Sidi Adv) I don't want the hassle of posting them back to swop.

Also looking for these or similar boots s/h in good condition (sole esp) if anyone has anything?

i bought mine 5 years ago - black and white tech 3's.
I was a size 8 and they needed to be a size 9 to work.
I can wear them with sealskins or normal biking socks there is stacks of adjustment.

If you liek to be able to feel the pegs and gear leverl/brake pedal - might be worth trying to ride with them on first cos with mine on its liek steel plates underneath each foot - cant feel a thing.

But ive worn them everywhere from morocco to a local two day enduro and they are still going strong!

Wife ended up going one size smaller, she,s normall a 5....would advise against doing mail order cost her £15 return postage...we ended up going up to westgate road...sizing seemed all over the place....

I wouldn't say I wear thick socks, just average boot sock or sports socks. If I know it's going to be p@ssing it down I just wear a pair of Porelle dry's (which are a waterproof sock I've had for years similar to Seal skinz).

I do like to 'feel' as much as possible. If I can't in tech 3's I might have to spend more and look at Sidi Crossfires, but them again I'm in the same quandry on size as the Crossfire2's and Crossfire 2 SRS''s are supposed to fit differently.

Where near to Scarborough, North Yorks is likely to have a decent selection of off road stuff??

These guys http://www.dirtbikexpress.co.uk/boots seem to have best selection online and a decent size replacement carriage set up Anyone used them?

I think that I ended up with one size larger than I would normally wear plus there was some faff with US sizing. I'll check when I get home.

FWIW, Tech 3s are offered with a smooth sole or a treaded sole. If you're trail-riding, you defo need the treaded sole!
