Hi,
I got to go to manchester centre next week and fancy going on the bike. I need to be on or near Portland Street, is there anywhere to park near thats reasonably safe. I will be taking disc lock and heavy chain but are there any areas I should avoid?
Thanks

Contact Fred Tolley, the local BMF rep,who has instigated a scheme for safe bike parking in that area.
You`ll likely get done for parking elsewhere, now.

manchester parking

you could try brazil st attended carpark but in the gay village so be carefull walking down canal st wearing leather trousers and dont drop your wallet

If you've not already been, some of the NCP's will take bikes, either at reduced rate or free. I parked in the one under Piccadilly Gardens hotel (rear of Piccadilly Gardens) last year - think it cost me about £3, and the same for the NCP at G-Mex, where they even let me park outside their office so they could keep an eye on the bike while I wasn't there.

Thanks for all the advice. Going Tomorrow so I guess I'll find out how good (or bad) it is.
Thanks again
