Hi there
Off to Morocco in 3 weeks. My second visit; first one was on a guided tour. This time just two of us on 1200GSs (mine's a GSA), both running on TKC80s.
We have a night booked in Tangier when we arrive then, 18 days in Morocco.
Initial thoughts are; maybe a day/afternoon in Fes since I read that it's less spoilt than Marrakech.
Then a couple of nights in Azrou or Ifrane to spend a day exploring the cedar forest tracks without luggage.
Following that, heading south we're tempted to turn right at Midelt and drive across to Imilchil for a night; not sure what accommodation's around there? Then perhaps down the Todra gorge.
Fancy going to Zagora and crossing by the (I've heard) graded N12 to Foum Zguid.
Did wonder about meandering over to Sid Ifni on the coast via the piste from Assa to Guelmim via El-Borj (Chris Scott MW5). Then possibly returning via Ouarzazate and/or Marrakech, Casablanca and Volubilis.
We're neither of us expert on pistes but keen to try easier routes. The bikes will be loaded most of the time but we're open to the idea of spending a couple of nights in one location to dump luggage.
We'd like to think we'd be able to see and experience the 'real' Morocco, rather than just tourist sights.
I'd like to hear any thoughts on our plans Tim (or anyone else) and any different/other ideas for spending a leisurely 18 days.
Any ideas on unmissable easy routes or sights?
We'd appreciate any constructive advice.
Cheers
Geoff

There is a great road about an hour out of Fez that is full of twisties also if you go to Ouarzazate stay a couple of nights at Bikershome Peter knows some great trails you can ride there are also so great gorges Todra and Dades to ride near Ouarzazate
if you like I would send you the routes from my last tour.

Cheers
Eddie

Thanks Eddie. The idea of a couple of nights at Bikershome's a good one. Sound's obvious to pick Peter's brain for a day out on the trails. And yes, I would like to see your route. You have my email from buying the toolbox; if not, let me know.
Cheers mate.
Any more folks?
Geoff

I know that road :thumb. It's approx 25 miles out of Fez. :D

I've turned around and rode it again twice in the past.

No accomodation in Foamy squid, so don't get out of the sand too late in the day.

This is foamy :D

Tazenakht, north of foamy has a good selection of accomodation.
