I 'lost' my bike for ten days shipping it from Southampton to Newark, but a whole month coming back as the ship needed to go to various other sea ports on the Eastern seaboard first.
The battery was flat on it's return and the 'handlers' (for want of a better word) yanked the plastic side cover off to get jump leads onto the battery terminals.
Other than than, the whole exercise was pretty pain free.
