Advice on Scotland trip

Off on a jaunt from the Peak District to Loch Ness tomorrow with the sweetie , she hardly ever comes out on the bike so it a bit of a rarity
Planning on stopping at Balloch then up the A82 to Loch Ness .
It's given out 50 mph winds for tomorrow
Whilst I realise that's pretty windy , would anyone who's been up there consider it unrideable , should I consider going in the car ?
Not sure how exposed the terrain is up there .
Not even sure how to quantify if those sort of winds are too much
I rescued someone on a bike once on Holme moss , he was hidden behind his bike and couldn't move , that day was very windy indeed and I would have guessed it was windier than 50 mph
Any advice or experience would be appreciated

Gusts are to be fairly bad, it's nae great fun riding in the wind, never mind strong blustery winds, I don't think you're missus will thank you for it. the 82 isn't that exposed but it is in an area where the strongest winds are expected.

The wind should not be too much of a problem until you get above Tyndrum climbing up and on to more open ground - Bridge of Orchy , Rannoch Moor and heading down Glencoe where the wind may be head on.

But once into the Great Glen the wind should be following.........

Actually scrub what I said about it being not to badly exposed, I'm thinking around Loch Ness but feck me, Glencoe is exposed big time.

Discretion ... Valour etc. Tell her you've decided to take the car in the circs and treat it as a recce for another time. Once she sees the scenery, she'll want to come back on the bike (in better weather).

rannoch moor and Glen coe will be very windy if its at 50 mph in the lower areas….when you arrive at the green welly ,might be best to take the oban road to connaught bridge then right to Ft william ..The bike lads at the green welly will know what its like over the glen coe road so ask them

We've had an amazing electrical storm here tonight...not forecast.
Stair rod type rain...not forecast.
Forecast of wind gusting into the mid 20s...zero wind whatsoever.

didn't quite get divorced , also didn't get a jump in my glamping pod either , which was slightly disappointing .
Was pretty windy at Shap and at Glen Coe , there were a few caravans resting in the ditch up there in lots of bits.
A82 was so busy you really couldn't go over 40mph till we got past Fort William.
Had a really nice ride to Applecross which was a breath taking place to visit , just beautiful..
Ride home was a bit epic , however I gave her my airhawk which helped a little and luckily the Sena packed in just past Glasgow so I got some peace and quiet.
She doesn't want to come on anymore 400+ mile trips which is a bonus

Good on you for getting on with it though.
I'm heading off towards Albania from north Scotland tomorrow with my partner as pillion, full camping / cooking etc, she also takes some convincing to get into a hotel even when the weathers' bad...where did I go wrong
Wonder how a 2 up Iceland trip would work
