Hi there folks. long time lurker first time thread.

Got GSA 1150 recently and have some funds on the BMW Finance to use up.

Well I need a new lid and I'm thinking of the Sportintegral, not the carbon one just the standard one.

Was wondering what the wisdom is on this lid. Should I avoid it like the plague or what?

I've heard that they can let the weather in?

I've a funny shaped head also, kind of tall and cylindrical.

Any advice would be most welcome.

Dear Beaker :D

Try one on - sounds like this may be an academic exercise - I found them to be too round for me, and I have a standard issue Arai shaped swede.

Noggin is more like Bender's than Beaker's but thanks for the advice.

Had occured to me to try it on first.

Any other pearls of wisdom? Anyone actually using one of these day to day?

I hear it's not a great helmet. I tried one in the shop. Having recently used an Arai again .. it is no where near as comfy inside. Arai inners are the best.

I wish they make a flip front helmet.

I've got one that I now use as a spare for my System 4. I find that the Sport Integral is quiet and comfortable. The head vent is good and easy to operate even with thick winter gloves on. The chin vent is poor and doesn't do a good job of clearing the visor. I fitted a fogcity and it was much better.

That said I'm currently thinking about replacing both with either a Schuberth C2 or perhaps a J1.

2p.

Don't Schuberth make the lids for BMW.

Have you had any issues with leaks?

I bought a sport integral and used it for a grand total of five whole weeks, to be honest it's the worst purchase I've ever made. The seal around the visor doesn't actually seal, the water pours in through the top when it rains. I tried on so many helmets afterwards and finally went for a Shoei XR-1000, it really is an awesome lid, I have used it all winter without complaint.

I still would like a Tour-X for the summer though.........

Thanks for the advice folks. Tried on the lid today and I knew straight away it was wrong for my head. Tight on the sides and loose at the back and front. Think I'll stick with what I know.

Not at all. The visor is a good fit and seals very well.

Personally, I've just ordered a Schuberth C2. :clap

One of the guys in the RoSPA group I do training with swears by his SportIntegral,

Tells me it's one of the lightest and quietest lids he's ever used.

Hasn't been heard bitching about rain getting inside, even after the wettest rides.
