Not sure if I’m allowed to post this but here goes. I’d appreciate advice regarding fuel shortages or otherwise in the following locations. We start from St Malo, head down to Royan, Biarritz then across to Potes in the Picos and on to Santiago del Compostela, Lisbon, Gibraltar, Valencia, Girona, Orleans and back to St Malo. We are using motorway and B roads.

It would be great if site users could advise the locations where we may find shortages. We are travelling from 15th to 31st May 26.

Thanks for any assistance.

Regards
John

I’ve moved it from Trip Reports for you.

Im pretty sure there are no fuel shortages anywhere in Europe . Might see you in Picos . We’re there 18-20th . I’ll be on an X-ADV so be sure not to wave 😜

You will not find any shortages on that routing.

Enjoy the trip

Use one of the fuel finder apps and that will tell you.
Google maps has all the petrol stations. You could put your route in and check those along it.

Traveling up from Spain and now just south of Nantes I can say that on the motorways at least there is no shortage.
It is however very windy.

We’ve been all over (south from here) over the last few weeks and not seen any shortages.
Much cheaper in Spain but could all change by the time you get here.

We’re in the south of France now and there is no problem with fuel anywhere.
Just what makes you worried about it?

Only time you may find fuel shortages on the Peage - bank holidays

squeaky bum time on the GS less than 20miles range and no fuel on the Peage !!!! found some in a nearby village , just make sure your sat nav has fuel stations turned on

Saw no fuel shortages in France last week. Some variance in the price of E10 but filled up at 2 euro a litre in Total stations. Weirdly, the supermarkets were usually dearer.

I've also just returned from 2 weeks in France and Spain. We only saw a couple of fuel shortages and that was near the ferry terminal at St Malo. No other issues

Spains full of fuel pal.
Also there government has knocked some of their tax off the price. Cheaper than UK. Thats from Santan to Mojaca and back up to cartagena.
HTHY. Have a great safe loads of fun trip

Total France have extended their fuel price cap which started in March so they're generally the cheapest in France at the moment.

We’ve been in Spain since 30th April. No shortages and cheaper than in uk. €1.44 is the cheapest we’ve paid at unmanned places, most expensive €1.70 at a very rural remote place. Prices do vary from province to province though but somewhere about €1.55is usual.

Not been to Portugal but have heard fuel is very expensive there - well north of €2 but that might have been diesel prices.

It’s been very cool, cloudy and showery most of the time since we got here too. Top temp today 15c with a low of just 8c at the top of the pass. We are on the Silent Route today which is east of Teruel, south of Zaragoza, north of Valencia. I think it should be 20+ and mostly sunny.

I help run a couple of dozen trucks all over Europe and we have encountered no issues with the availability of fuel anywhere.

If it’s any comfort to the OP, I filled up a 90 litre tank with diesel in France on my return from Belgium on Monday.

1. I had no preconceived notion that there might be a problem obtaining fuel when across the Channel.

2. All of the filling stations I passed, whether on a motorway or country road or in a town, were open and no busier than normal.

There again, at a smidge over EUR 2 a litre for basic diesel, I’m not surprised that bods were not queuing to snap-up a bargain.
