The bike has been left for all of 4 days and yes the battery is flat. Is it best to arrange with Vines or just call BMW assistance and let them sort it. The paint is peeling off the engine cover and rear carrier so they may as well sort that. I love this bike when I'm riding it but all these niggles are getting a pain. :mcgun

I was advised by my dealer to ring Mondial assist -- that seems to be the way. exactly the same happened to me by the way, my battery died 3 weeks after I collected it. When the guy from Mondial checked it it looked OK according to his gadgets BUT it would not hold a charge for more than an hour. When he comes ask him to check for battery draw when the ignition is off, some people have had probs.

I has similar problems with my battery. Stopped for fuel and the bike wouldn't re-start when it was something like 3 months old. Battery wouldn't hold charge and the dealer replaced it under warranty. Fingers crossed it has been ok since (15 months)

Tell you what though, the ride on lawnmower has got a much bigger battery than the bike, and for a 12HP engine! I am convinced that the quest to save weight meant that BMW took a kilo or two out of the battery that I would have much rather they had left in! The ride on mower sits in the garage all winter, with maybe one charge (if I remember) during that time - and always starts in the Spring. I stop at the cash machine on the way to work and leave the bike running in case the battery won't re-start it after stopping!

mine too!

My battery went out a couple of months after being new too! I called BMW assist as I was in deep snow- the BM guy just popped in a new battery and i was on my way (unfortunately!:) off into the snow... call BMW/mondial whenever it doesnt start or in doubt- use them as many times as possible i say!
