I'm devastated that due to a rotator cuff (shoulder) injury I am not able to ride my 2019 1250 Rallye TE and I'm going to sell. I bought it new and have done less than 3K miles, FBMWSH and still under warranty until April 2022. No finance outstanding. I added lots of bits, engine guards, BMW vario side panniers, Denali CANBUS lighting front and rear, mudguard extender, side stand extender etc. and I will also be selling with System 7 helmet and BMW comms as well as Navigator 6 satnav. I will also be selling a Rally Pro 2 piece suit (size52)

My question is, do you think I should advertise everything as a complete package (only helpful if someone is my size I guess) or would I be better to remove the bits and try and sell separately? Any suggestions appreciated.

I feel your pain! My 2019 Rallye seems to becoming more and more painful on my knee/hip/back with every ride

For maximum money definitely split.

Sorry to hear this.

Personally, I'd advertise the bike with everything fitted as one advert and, if someone wants to buy any of the kit, I'm sure they'll ask.

The helmet and riding gear etc should be a different adverts.

Keep the bike and get your shoulder fixed, my hips are knackered and riding isn’t as comfy as it used to be, but I’m planning to ride this season and get new hips next autumn/winter and back on the bike in the spring 2022.

If you don't mind taking all the bits off and selling them seperately you will get more money.
Your bike will sell well enough without the bits on it.

Tough decision to make for sure. Physio like mad before the bike goes though..

Most of the bits fixed to the bike are what any owner would fit, so I would advertise as a job lot, but don't be daft on the price of extras.

Saves a load of disassembly, packing and posting that way.

Suit/helmet completely separate.

Good physio has helped considerably with my own rotator cuff injury. I still follow the physio exercises daily & I've been able to keep riding my GS.
Using my core much more than upper body when moving the bike around has also helped. I always used my core, but do so even more these days.

Best of luck with whatever you choose to do.

I would offer the bike either with nav and luggage or stripped back to basic :thumb2

The Denali light set will only take 30 mins to take out and will sell like hot cakes on here. In fact I know of two mates that would be very interested in the Denali kit :thumb2

Everything else will easily sell on here. I’ve just traded my 2019 GSA Rallye as a standard bike with no extras for £13500 against a new one. Autotrader will give you an idea of worth on yours.

I also have a left shoulder rotator cuff injury :blast two partial tears in the supraspinatus tendon with impingement and tendinitis. I finally had a cortisone injection on Monday and it’s feeling better. I’ll never give up my bike though :D

Good luck with whatever you decide to do :thumb2

Cheers Jon, great advice. I tore my rotator cuff following a fall from my mountain bike - had, much treatment including injection, physio, PT etc. The PT got the best results but I recently had relapse with limited movement and as I also have a compressed disc L4 I think I need to be pragmatic and move on. I do have a CCM R30 that I’m restoring so hopefully I’ll be ok with that much lighter bike and not need to give up all together.. thank you for all of your comments guys and sympathy!

Similar experience, took a year to get better. I never thought selling the bike. If you sell the bike take everything off. If you want to maximize your cash eBay is good to sell the extras. Or sell here, looks like I am third in the line for the Dennali:D . I would be interested in the helmet if it's the right size and colour. What size boots/gloves you have? I would even split the suit or be prepared to split.

I too have a had a severe Rotator cuff injury to my left shoulder for the past few months, so very painful and hardly any movement at first! But seriously, before you consider selling, get yourself along to a good chiropractor - after 4 months I've gone from can barely move with extreme pain and sleepless nights to mild discomfort, sleeping well and 90% movement and after my day out on my R1250GS last weekend can happily ride 300 miles in a day with no adverse effect.
