I`m after some advice from all you wise men. I sold my Nav 11 to Thunder and want the transition from my ownership to his, to be as smooth as possible for him. Apart from doing the obvious and sending all the bits to him, what will he need to do concerning the unlock code?

I can`t remember at what stage he will need to use the unlock code!

Am I right in saying:

Install Mapsource first.
Install City Navigator.
Download the latest Mapsource update from Garmin`s web site.

Hook up the Nav 11 to the PC, and add routes/way-points etc as and when you need/want.

I know that you can re-register the unit in his name, via Garmin`s web site.

Your input would be most appreciated.
Cheers
Paul

Just send him the unit and the Cd's with the mapsource - he then uses your original unlock codes when he's installing the software on his PC - that's all there is to it. If he want's to bother registering on the Garmin site he can ....but why :nenau

Just a thought, If the new owner wants to update his mapping, he will have to log in at Garmin with your coupon code to get a new 25 character unlock code, your personal details are on that log in and other codes for GPS’s and mapping etc.

Cheers guys, you have confirmed what I was thinking. ukGSer and its community once again provide valuable help and advice.
