Im trying to tidy up how I save footage on the road as I go. Right now I limit the amount of content I capture and use maybe 5 SD cards numbered 1 through 5. As they fill I change to the next card. It limits the footage I can take but keep a fairly streamlined process.
Looking at portable hard drives they seem the right job, can you just plug an SD card into one and it copies over or do I need to be specific with the type of drive and software i.e. I will need a software to do the copying over to the hard drive no matter what therefore a laptop is a must have ?
