on some threads there is some text followed by a large space when you put the cursor on it a outline box appears and the caption "click here to activate and use control" when i do nothing happens any good ideas?

Do you have ActiveX controls enabled under your security settings?

Try and double-click instead of just one single click.
If that doesn't work click once, pause and then click again

gs monkey, when i find these activex wotsits i will let you know,traveller i tryed double click didnt work,two steps forward one step back i fecking hate computers

Are you getting bar appear below the menu bar saying "content blocked"?

It could be your security settings.
