advise needed

Hi i have just ripped the sidestand switch off my 2007 1200 gs loading it onto my pickup, there are three wires red,brown,white. can i safely link them to bypass the switch so i can load the bike as it now thinks the sidestand is down when it is not. For the safety minded i will tape the sidestand up and out of use untill replaced. I hope to leave for the uk tommorow morning so any advise will be welcome. thanks for looking at least K.B.
