Help,advise please.
I am shortly going into hospital for 3-4 weeks,to my horror there is no wifi in the QE Hospital.
I will be lost without my ipad connection to keep up with this site and others,BBC i player ,email etc..
What is my best option to get the internet.
My mobile phone is only a old pay as you go relic.

A,lternative solution

If the iPad is 3G, get a iPad compatible Three SIM PAYG that has All You Can Eat data. In theory you are not allowed to use it for anything other than smartphones but by the time Three figures out your usage you may be out of hospital! Not sure if the IMEI is checked to see what the device is - could fail at startup.

If the iPad is WiFi only, buy a cheap Android phone that has WiFi and use the above Three SIM; Android (2.2 and above IIRC) can act as a mobile hotspot like the Huawei suggested above. Then tether to it to the iPad and use phone AYCE data - worked for me for 2 weeks when visiting UK last year. This way at least you get a new phone out of it too.

Either way do NOT tell the shop of your master plan, pretend you are just a phone user.

Check Three coverage at the hospital!

Take chargers with you!

The perfect solution. Three's all you can eat data is great and only £15 a month on a pay as you go plan, all you need is the android hotspot.

To give you an idea with 3 you can happily sit and watch sky go or catch up tv with no streaming issues (obviously as long as the signal is decent).
