I have an Olympus one suit at present and it leeks like a sieve, so it's heading for the bin.

Probably going to need to bite the bullet and buy a 'stich one piece.

Question ........ how do you run the electric leads for heated under jackets and earpieces from the inside to the outside of the suit. Are there standard holes or do you need to specify them when ordering.

Anyone got a 42R they want to sell ??

There's a flap on either side to gain access to your pockets on your jeans / shorts or what ever you wear underneath :nenau

I run my cable through this :bounce1

PS , i had to extend the cable :thumb

I think it would cost more in return postage and hassle than it's worth. When all a suit has to do is be waterproof, and it isn't, I loose confidence in it. If I'd bought it in the UK I'd be looking for a refund. It's billed as a cheap alternative to a 'stich and that is exactly what it is - cheap.

a few people have said they are really good and haven't had problems with them in the rain.... you may have been very unlucky.. the ones i've seen look very well made.
It cant cost much more than £30ish to send it back.. well worth it to get a new suit IMO

PS where did it leak at?

Was this not Thunder's wonder alternative to the vastly over-priced Stich? :augie

Old story !

You all Know , i spose already , i just love the Stich suit.
I bought a Gray one , last season , which when it arrived ,
turned out to be an olive geen ish sorta colour.
Billie , bought a Blue one , which Funny enough was blue.
I sold my """Gray"" suit and bought a Two piece black suit ,
with Lower black ballistics , and upper grey/silver Ballistics !
The Lower black Ballistics are indeed Black !
The Suit , which was ment to be black , is , well ,,,,,, its Blue ! allbeit it Dark !
the upper Ballistics are indeed Silver/gray !
The Two piece is an even better Bet , you can
just use the upper jacket on those days you would choose to ,
Its as easy , if not easier to get into and out of , and on reflection
you could get all your acesories fitted much easier into the suit.
So , i see your looking a New suit ,
I have a Newish one ,, two piece Black ,
Are you gonnie make me an offer ?

Is that the one your mum bought you :D

I'm guessing it is if it's the Olympia Phantom. Not had a problem with mine in the time I had it and the current owner loves it cause he is dry and toastie even in the Irish summer.

When in Florida in July I picked up an Olympia 3 seasons jacket which turned out to be the top half of the Phantom. I've not had any issues with leaks and on Tuesday rode through heavy rain and sat in some torrential down pours for nearly 2 hours at Birkenhead waiting for the ferry home.

I'd contact Olympia and let them know there's a problem before dumping it in the bin, in fact if it's heading for the bin I'l have it for a fiddle and cover the postage.

They're not advertized as being waterproof either. I'm on my 2nd Aerostich since 1992 and in extended and/or heavy rain they leak, even when treated.

There's an art to getting them sealed up....

Put it on, seal it up properly standing next to the bike (making sure all the flaps are extended behind the zips obviously) then sit on the bike and stand up on the pegs....smooth the flap down towards the groin area, as this is where it rucks up and lets water in behind the flap.

In truth, I've taken to wearing a light weight goretex walking anorak thing under mine- windproof and totally waterproof and its long enough to tuck under my balls as I'm zipping up the 'stitch.....that works beautifully.

The other important thing is to 'groom' the velcro patches periodically with a dog flea comb or similar to make sure they all stick to each other properly.

Still the best single bit of riding kit I've ever bought, even with the occasional leak in persistent heavy rain :thumb

Which is why I bought another one in 2004, identical to the first one I bought in 1992 which I stll have and is fully functional other than the Velcro fraying.

A good all around suit but would I buy a third? Probably not. The design is getting long in the tooth and I think there is better stuff out there now.

I do wear a rainsuit over mine when I expect to be in moderate rain for more than a thirty minutes, or monsoon rain for more than ten minutes.

And it could use far better venting, which is an issue with most suits. But start adding more zippers and you start letting the water in. Can't have everything!

h'mmm a terrific endorsement from civil , he cant wait to get rid ....... must leak like a seive , a waste of money by all accounts , just like buying property this last while. yes foolish civil .

an enviable position ,,,,,,,,,

I am in the Enviable position , of Having a Nearly new {This years }
suit , that i would sell at the Right money.
But i dont care whether it sells or not , its fine
its waterproof and it does exactly what it says on the Tin.
The Stich is Made in the USA , the olympian is made in China.
