I would be in the market for one of these, but for two things;

I don't like the depreciation on a new bike, when there are normally plenty of second hand machines with an easy life out there, except of course on new models...
Which leads me onto the fact that I like to own a bike that has been in production for a year or so to iron out the 'wrinkles'.

Oh well, looks like the 1150 gsa is going to be gracing my garage still, once I have bought one ...

Its an urban myth that Honda have durable finishes - just look at the scabby fork lowers on bikes that are a few years old.

Quite possibly,but just look at the finish of some BMWs that have corrosion after a few months,not years !!!
I have owned Hondas that were 6/7 years old that looked like new.I have mates with old Blackbirds etc that are still immaculate.So I don't think it's an urban myth at all.Honda definitely have a better and more durable finish than BMWs,but then so does just about every other manufacturer these days !!!

Ummmmmmm ....

I just don't understand Honda. They're finish is good, their reliability is good, and they've built some truly mould breaking iconic motorbikes over the years (VFR, Blackbird, SP1 & 2, Fireblade, Pan ... etc etc .... ) ....

But there's a huge adventure bike market out there and they're just not even close. BM, KTM, even Yamaha's Tenere are selling well and where is Honda ??

Putting aside the whole bland, uninspiring and characterless argument (that I completely agree with) why oh why they haven't come out with a proper, decent GS / 950 / 990/ 1190 competitor I just don't know .....

Well I've pulled the trigger and I'm having the first AT out of my Honda dealers door.
No idea on release, price, specs, but the darkened photos are intriguing. The 1190 has gone, so no biking trips this summer.
Hope the wait will be worth it.

Seeing as it hasn't appeared at any bike shows, or been seen in the flesh anywhere, you could well be right. There will be a big build up, journo test rides etc, months before it's released to the public.

I'm looking forward to having a go. The NC750X is not quite enough for me and the Xtour is just too heavy. The AT could be just right..as long as Honda realise that folks won't pay daft money for it..

Your dealers aren't very well informed as its on Hondas own website for 2015 release in the UK.
