Africa Twin is coming

how much do you reckon it will be on release, basic bike £12k more/less?

Gawd knows.....logic would say that a basic spec bike will be £10,999 to compete with the KTM 1050. But, the AT might be a higher spec as standard than the 1050, so maybe £11,499. Until there's more details everything is just speculation.

I thought you being the account/residual worrying type would work that out ?

Who says I worry about residuals?:nenau

I wouldn't buy brand new bikes if I was worried about how much they lose. It is a contributing factor (and a small one at that), but I'd rather have a bike to ride than get rid of one, just in case it will be worth a few quid less in a couple of months.

Mind you, at the rate those KTM's depreciate, I can understand your concern.:aidan

Its a cross between a super 10 and an 1190 adventure. Got a funny feeling there are gonna be alot of disappointed people when this bike is launched.

Well, it certainly is a leap of faith for me then. I know deep down that it won't have the performance of my departed 1190, that's a given even tho' we know so little about the new bike. There are many other uncertainties that need addressed, but we'll all have to have patience until the press hacks have their say. Knowing Honda, it'll be most likely be middle of the road, unofensive with expected uber reliable. And you meet the nicest people on a Honda, after all.......:blast

More 'leaked' pictures.

Oh, and summer is partially sorted and it's nice to have good friends. I've been lent this while I'm bike less. :D

OK, not the most comfortable thing to ride around on, but it'll do, I guess.

Just need to resist buying a Power Rangers suit.....:blast

Why on earth would you sell your bike, giving up any biking trips this summer, for a bike that you haven't even ridden, let alone sat on? Or know the price of? Or know the full spec of?:nenau

Your dealers aren't very well informed as its on Hondas own website for 2015 release in the UK.

http://bikes.honda.co.uk/motorcycles/range/coming-soon/2015-africa-twin/overview.html

theres no release date on the web site - or a spec, or prices, but i read that 2016 is the anticipated year for "release" first UK then the US, Honda are stating "Late 2015" in the UK, but i guess that's to gauge interest and production levels... you might want to keep that bike / stop-gap till.....next summer :nenau - a lot of these links point to late 2015 for production to begin, 2016 for release...:blast

Some of that info is out of date by a few months. Here's Honda UK's web page...clearly states 2015. But ultimately, things change all the time. http://bikes.honda.co.uk/motorcycles/range/coming-soon/2015-africa-twin/overview.html
Besides, if it is 2016, I'm happy with that too.

Looking at the leaked pictures unless the rider is 6'6" plus tall the bike appears to be physically quite small
