Africa Twin is coming

I like it a lot, but it needs to be as least as good a load lugger as my GSA. The press release says 30kg of luggage - which will hugely on the cautious side. I wonder what the total payload is.

Rally Raid had their modified CB500X at Tourque Racing today (they have an open day weekend)

I took it for a spin on roads and Greenlanes - what a sweet bike, it's very well sorted, lovely for carving the B roads and felt very composed on the dirt.

Looks great too...

Is the grip as good as the aerodynamics?

;)

Looks the part. I see Chris Scott is having his one kitted up with rally raid products too :thumb2. http://www.cb500xadventure.com

It gripped very well on the road, very natural and lots of confidence.

Aerodynamics felt fine, I saw 95 mph a few times. I reckon the bike and rider would be quite happy at 80-85 all day

Apparently it's about 200 kg.

I was very impressed, much nicer than my recollection of an 800GS

I was well impressed by video, if I were off travelling would be at the top of my shortlist I think:thumby:

Really? Unseen unridden unloaded? The vid would of been filmed with Honda budgets, photo shopped and edited to hell. Bikes may of not been stock but built around the rider and his caperbilities. Rider could of been on a different bike and Africa Twin painted in.... I'd like to ride one before I decided I liked it.... I was amazed how it went up the dunes weighing what it does with the tires it has on it... But it may be that good but I'd still like to ride it.

Ahhh Mr Hall entirely my fault as joined in a thread about Africa Twin but Wreford and I were on about a different little Honda CB500x with many mods. See that's what happens on a thread hijack I'll get me coat:D
