Africa Twin is coming

You must have had to try hard if you had to find a 6 year old post from a sportsbike forum!!

Nope just the first thing that came up when I googled Honda/corrosion - can look harder if you want :augie

............but then I am not on an anti Honda crusade like your BMW one :comfort

No crusade! Just can't ever see me buying an over-priced badly made Barely Make Waitrose in the near future.

Honestly.....the 1290GT was possibly the biggest let down of the show.....nice riding position, but looks that only a mother could love.

Looks - schmooks! It's how it goes, stops, handles and feels that counts. I might just have to get one...... :D

I've no doubt it rides brilliantly.....but it's got to light my fire when I open the garage door and set eyes on it. Maybe it'll grow on me, maybe it needs more orange, but for now.....no thanks.

At birth, the midwife should've slapped the mother instead :barf:D

" Yes, the power was sort of lacking and the front suspension made it possibly the worst “adventure bike” on the pavement."

As long as you four keep yours on the dirt you"ll be fine :blast

Forget this notion and get the GT dude :thumb2

Thanks but no thanks.

As much as I have orange blood,I think the GT is just a bit too much of everything.I kind of like the look of it but really don't need 160 bhp these days !
My chosen steed of the last 7 years,my KTM 950 SuperEnduro would be slated if it was tested alongside the GS/KTM 1190 etc etc BUT it remains my favourite bike of all time.Yes it only has a single front disc and there is a lot of dive when you stamp on the front brake, but it encourages smooth riding. It wasn't even designed to be used on the road, but with Conti TA2s,30 litre tank and Renazco seat it has taken me all over europe and has amazed others at the way it handles.I also love the 21/18 wheel combo for the feel and turn in.Jumping back on it last week after having ridden the Versys it felt so alive and light, and the motor is just sublime, with the fuelling from the carbs just perfect.

And I'm hoping the AT in DCT mode will be like a modern day 950SE.I plan to do numerous trips in the future now that I can do what I want and for me,the view is as important as the riding,so I look forward to getting the AT and taking it on a long trip.If it fails to be the bike I think it will then I can always flog it !!

I must admit if its not all its supposed to be ill be pi55ed off as Ive got all the goodies that I want on the Versys 1000 now and ill have to get another one and buy them all over again !! that will give me the ass4ole

Ill keep most of the bits in all seriousness Exhaust Screen Pegs luggage etc till I know the Honda is as good as its supposed to be just in case !!

Does anyone know on the Uk model will the indicators be on all the time, seen videos with One headlight on also seen them with both headlights on im guessing the EU regs it will be one headlight on but for us, but on all the videos the indicators are on like day running lights ??
