Africa Twin is HERE !!!

Hmm those crash bars , looking about as lovely as the pannier brackets on a S1000XR. talking of panniers......

Nice bike under all that tat!

Anybody actually going to talk about their new purchases with real thoughts good or bad or do we just get the same pictures

Sorry, but I simply collected it and had very quick ride before heading home as I've been up all night flying home from Abu Dhabi !
I've never ridden a DCT bike before but it was very intuitive from the off,and very comfy with tall seat and tall screen.
I'm off now till next Tuesday so intend to ride it a lot more, plus fit Remus exhaust,GPS bracket and power supply plus Optimate plug.

PS
Engineer,I really wouldn't bother to post on every thread that I do,as I've put you on the ignore list-the first time I've used this feature in a decade on this forum, but you really are a pathetic arsehole and everything that makes the English race such a bunch of bigoted stereotypical tossers.:comfort

I looked into getting the H+B Gobi Panniers like on the KTM 950/990 as I really like them and Ive a brand new top box that I can use as well in black so wanted the black panniers but with the frames the bike would have been wider than my Range Rover LOL
I think ill go with the Std ones

The panniers seem VERY well made despite what the usual warriors on here think. They are very light but seem very rigid and attach and detach very easily.
I'll only be using them away on trips, though will probably leave the top box on-it's not shown as the dealer fucked up the lock when coding it so collecting tomorrow.

Nice looking bike. The wheels and paint are very nice. The blue seat is growing on me...but I'm afraid I'm in the "zimmer frame" camp re the crash bars. Wouldn't be a deal breaker for me tho. Definitely looking forward to hearing how people get on with their AT's over the coming months.

I had no intention to get the zimmer bars and spot lights but when I was offered them for list -30% and vat free I thought I may as well !! The spots are quite powerful and you can't mount them without crash bars.

The "zimmer" frame bars look better in the flesh than they do in pictures. However , they can also be vastly improved for the small sum of £7.99 :thumb

Lest see who is the first to do it.:augie

The crash bars are more cosmetic appearance than functional, there rubber mounted I think so do move slightly, if you bin it they'll probably do nowt, but regardless it's a cracking looking bike and looks well made, typical honda .

Nice bike arsey hope you enjoy it fella .

I rode the manual and give an honest review it was the manual but things like you have mentioned ie what do you think of the taller screen/Taller seat /have you bar risers on as well/does the DCT work on the road genuinely interested to know after you have a few miles on the bike

At that sort of discount I can see why you went for them...and I'm sure somebody will create a bracket so the spots can be mounted without the bar for those that would rather not have it.

Like I said, be interested in hearing how you new AT owners get on with them in the coming months. Honda build quality should be no problem. I had a 12 year old Blackbird that was near showroom condition and every single thing about the bike was spot on. Even the plastic fairing "poppers" were well made!!

Looks great in the Tri colour,I took a demonstrator out today a manual in the same colours with the same spec minus the panniers, it's a nice bike, seems well built, corners well the engine and standard exhaust sound great as stock, I thought the motor had a great power delivery with a very useable spread and spun up well, I doubt anyone who has ordered one will be disappointed with it.
Nice bike but I don't think it's quite my cup of tea, enjoy yours :thumby:

Fuck what everyone else thinks and enjoy your new bike. I'm guilty of buying Hondas in the past and all were excellent bikes.

Very nice, best colour combo as well.

Is that front crash bar standard Honda ?

Honda one's do not look very good but then neither do the standard Triumph one's.

Better off going for some aftermarket ones like the Holan's I just put on my Tiger :D

They already have a kit for the AT as well:
http://holan.pl/en/home/4010-pro-pa...with-nomada-pro-ii-panniers.html#.VrjjsjYrFjo

That way owners can also swap them over to another bike if they decide to change the AT in the future ;)

I resemble that remark !!! :P I sold my Holans that I had on my 1190. I emailed Holan asking them were they considering bringing out frames for the AT, but I never got a response ( which seems pretty typical according to many others). OK, had they responded, it would have saved me the bother of selling said panniers, however, I think the oe Honda panniers are fine (but not Vario quality) and I like not having scaffolding fitted to the rear of the bike.

I'll get some when the OEs where out,as I love TA2s.Had 2 sets on my 950.

PS
Have you wired up satnav ? If so how did you route it to the battery,as the battery has an odd placement down on the left hand side.
