Africa Twin is HERE !!!

Arsey, not sure I like the look of the risers mate, why did you feel they were needed ?, I've only done 200 miles so far but I'm finding the bars are okay, were they causing you an issue....

I've got the tall seat and found the standard bars a bit low

Arsey you must be a fair bit taller than me, I fitted the risers to bring the bars back a bit !!

I'm 6'1" and I've got them angled away from me.Been out this morning and it's like a different bike again !! I get a bit of a bad back on all bikes but this is so much better.

Dude - I would ditch those - they look like they are special needs ;)

lets see some pics of the KTM please - when does it show up?

1290GT may be some time.My dealer should know in next week or so when KTM have processed all the orders but I'm thinking late summer at earliest.Hey ho.......hopefully in time for my Picos trip in September.

Less than 100 miles to go before the first service and stretching her legs now. Obligatory first visit to Spelga Dam in the Mournes of the year.....lovin' it !! :thumb2

I've almost decided that I'll fit the full Termignoni system on the AT. I do like the Arrow system, the way the end can sits higher, the blue of the Ti headers....and although a power increase isn't a be all/end all, it's just less than 2 bhp with the Arrow. And at £1100, it'd be nicer to have a few more ponies released. Maybe this shows how well Honda have designed their oe system.

The Termi is definitely more 'old school' looking and a tad over 4 bhp gain for slightly less money, but I also found this little nugget on the Termi site.......

To satisfy the requests of high performance from the owner of the new Africa Twin CRF1000L, are now available the racing collectors developed by Termignoni in collaboration with Honda. Made in stainless steel they can be easily fitted on the bike associated to the silencer previously presented and is not needed any modification to the ECU. In terms of weight the collectors are one Kilo lighter (2 kilos instead of 3) but the most important thing is given by the engine performance. The combination collectors + silencer offers a very important increase of power (+ 4.08 hp at 7.570 rpm) and torque (+ 5,28 Nm at 3.000 rpm) in most of the working range.

That in itself would mean saving a trip over the water to Hilltop for a remap....although I'm sure some engineering type would argue that would be a waste of time anyway......;)

Surely spending £1100 on the suspension would make the bike quicker than a paltry 4hp bump?

It does look nice, and loses a bit of weight too, but I doubt you'll feel any performance increase.

The Wings on my 1190 says I agree

I think you are wrong Cookie , you will definitely feel a performance increase.............whether any of that "feel" will be real is another thing altogether ;)

It will certainly look good though Davy :thumb
