I have an Africa Twin 1100 DCT and I’m thinking of replacing the current composite OEM panniers and topbox with a rackless soft luggage option.
Currently considering either the Kriega OS Base + bags or Lone Rider versions but would appreciate any thoughts if anyone out there is using any of these options especially with an Africa Twin, or would recommend any other versions.

Big fan of Lone Rider products, gutted I sold my Motobags, their kit is good quality.
Wasn’t on an Africa Twin though……

Ive got the lonerider adv bags on my transalp , not done a trip on it yet but will in may , the bags should fit africa twin well and im thinking if I get africa twin next I will definitely fit the bags on to that

Ive got the SW Motech Systbags with the detatchable Pro Carriers on my AT. For me they are the perfect solution and priced right - had them on a couple of bikes so far (AT and a Husqvarna Norden 901) Dead easy to take the racks off and I wrap a cable lock around the frames and the bags just to deter a walk by thief). Loads of room and easy to balance the weight right (I use packing cubes to allow easy compact packing).
Not everyones choice I know but also means if I want I can go back to aluminium luggage with the trax systems.

Great bike! Before you commit to a rackless soft setup, consider why many ADV riders are sticking with aluminum. Soft bags are light, but they offer zero crash protection for your DCT’s expensive casings.

I build ROA - 2026 Bespoke cases from 2mm structural aluminum. At only 5.2kg per case, you get the 'rackless' weight feel but with a 'roll cage' that actually protects the bike in a drop. Plus, they are 100% waterproof and lockable for when you leave the bike.

I started this workshop after my own soft-shell and thin-walled cases failed me. You can see the stress tests on my profile: facebook.com/ROA.Vlad.

Safe travels regardless of what you choose!

I use lone rider bags on my r1250gs adv. I also use them on my tenere700 with some adjusting. They are good bags, waterproof, but two things about them annoy me. The inner bag can be a bugger to get into the pannier if it’s loaded with clothes. I often have to open the inner bag to allow air out so it’ll fit in and the other is locking the pannier closed. It needs to be nearly full for the metal parts line up properly. From a storage perspective they are brilliant. They fold really flat when you take the inner plastic liner out and have loops and hooks that can cinch them up tight.
