I don't like to have a GPS mount permanent fitted to my bike, so this is the ideal solution for me. I've used this type of quick release mount before, on my 1190 Adv and was very happy with it, so it was my first choice for my new 590LM. Easily fitted and adjusted and very very neat. I just need to butcher the cradle spaghetti to get rid of all the unnessesary wires (power supply only required) and attach a plug for the power point.

Forgive my hand holding the Garmin as the cradle isn't attached properly yet due to said spaghetti butchering.

Davy, i have the SW motech mount for my 1290 SA, did you ever look at how to fully secure it to the bike? I’m adding the lockable touratech bracket over the weekend but there is nothing stopping anyone just unclipping it out the quick release and snipping the wire. Any ideas how to secure the mount fully to the bike?
