Well, as a soon-to-be-new HP2 owner (1st BMW as well); the AQ tank system looks the goods.
I've done a lot of research on the HP2 prior to deciding to buy one...and then finding out that BMW decided to stop making them
I live in Western Australia, and out here, we need big fuel tanks. Rides into interesting areas can be more than 200km; which requires at least a 400km safe range; these AQ tanks give you that capability.
My only potential query with these tanks is that they're a blend of GRP and Kevlar.
Does anyone have any knowledgeable experience with tanks made from this material?

well f.. jesus that is some ugly looking load a recycled load of plastic cups... probably works really well and you can get'em in 10 minutes unlike the HPN however my HP looks nice and that is well, well it's just ..orrible...

My AQ Tanks have arrived in Oz

Thanks to a member on the advrider website, I have secured the AQ tanks for the HP2.
Finally !
the tanks have arrived here in West Oz....Once you receive them you can see where the engineering and tooling effort has been done by Africa Queens to produce an excellent product.
I have attached some more pictures prior to getting them painted. They arrive in an undercoat-type colour similar to beige/off-white.
I still don't know which way to go with the colour scheme yet; I like the charcoal/grey two-tone, but also like the gauloisses colour scheme that pir8te put up a while ago; I've attached these pictures for reference and to remind myself what the bike could eventually look like.
I'm guessing the tanks weigh about 3kgs on their own without the mounting brackets, but if you're going to hang this qty of fuel off your frame, then I guess you want substantial mounting brackets; which they are.
With these on, and the Wunderlich Vario screen I reckon the bike is on it's way to what I have always wanted out of it.

here are the colour schemes I'm thinking about:

and here's the bike at the moment with the vario screen, scotts damper, riser kit, and Zumo 550 hardwired into the bike's electrics.

Excellent pics - I really like the first paint job and the bike looks awesome. How easy (or dificult) is it to swap between the standard tank and the AQ set up. I really fancy a bigger tank but the standard one is fine off road due to its smaller size and won't cost so much to repair when you drop it!!!

I can't wait to fettle mine over the Spring and a paint job of sorts is on the list.

I dunno yet - I only just got them tonight; but looking at the mounting setup it would take at least an hour; maybe two to change back to the smaller tank.
....I've got the XR400 for tighter stuff
