Have recently got hold of spare pair of wire wheels for my GSA for off road use. Currently they are naked wheels. No discs etc.

Need to get brake discs & pads for them (plus a pair of TKC-80's)

Any recommendations on non-BMW discs & pads for use off road? The stuff from www.motorworks.co.uk seems good value. Any good?

Other than discs, pads & bolts, is there anything else needed? Washers? Any ABS gubbins? Spacers?

Thx.

I"ve

just got some from here, also Steptoe of this site has a stock I believe. You will need bolts for the rear and the bolts washers etc. for the front. They come as a pack, just ask your friendly MBW dealer, give or take a quid or two the bolts will cost you in the region of £40.

Hops - what year is your GS?

I just found this little problem. It seems the disks were changed a bit for bikes made after Nov 2007.

The bikes made before Nov 2007 had normal disks fiche pic here, then click brakes and look at pic of front disc.

After Nov 2007, the disks had mounting rivets, I think to make them float a bit - see fiche here. Click brakes etc.

The later disc is just held on with bolts. The older disc is held on with bolts, washers etc.

Plenty of aftermarket choice for the older style disk, but none so far for the newer style. Am struggling to find after market disks with the rivets....and dont really want to pay BMW prices. Grr.

So I just wonder if the new style is compatible with the old style etc.

I solved this now, and have started another thread here.

For bikes after Nov 2007, no choice but to go for BMW front discs...

But looks like the rear disc is unchanged.

Hi, couple of months ago did the same to my 07 GSA as what you about to do :) the list of parts to add to a naked wheel as in Discs, ABS Ring, bolts and washers to attach is a number of bits and was surprised by the additional cost. :blast But Ha once sorted can all be changed over at a drop of hat and fun time :JB

I will see if I can find the parts invoice and pass on to you, but your friendly BM dealer can sort all the bolts and washers you will need :augie :thumb2
