Evening all,

Just wondering if any of you guys have tried, bought or could recommend an after market screen for their XR.

I'm looking for something a little taller than the stock screen as even in the "up" position I'm copping for a bit of wind.

There are a couple of external factors which are contributing, namely:

1. Im 6ft 2
2. At present im riding with a Shoei Hornet c/w peak. I don't have a traditional lid to try but was thinking of trying one as it seems likely that the peak will certainly have an adverse effect.

Any thoughts or recommendations would be most welcome.

Thanks in advance

Regards

It's basically a sports bike. If you want wind protection, get a GSA or RT.

I have the screen in the low position, earplugs, System 6 evo helmet and it's no worse than my old GS. Anyway I bought into the "sports bike for old farts" concept so don't give a shit about the wind. Bike is mental and I love it.

I strongly suspect that changing to a traditional lid will improve the situation. That couple with earplugs could do the trick I reckon.

I was leaning more towards a taller screen as that's a lot cheaper than a good quality helmet.

BTW its not a sports bike. The XR is faster and a lot more comfortable. :D

Thanks

Ear plugs were the game changer for me. Didn't use them on the RT or GS but they are an absolute must on the XR.
Thanks

I kinda agree with this statement but also think ear plugs are a must.

Get ear plugs, and take the peak off your lid. Problem solved.:thumb

I don't use ear plugs I have a system 6 helmet which is pretty quiet compared to others, and have music on. I did use plugs for years, but suffered with blocked ears a couple of times which needed stringing and put it down to using plugs.

Got the MRA vario on mine & prefer it to the original screen. Its the darker tint which looks good and it's wider than the standard screen.
It's a lot more adjustable and at 6'1" I find I don't get as much wind blast as the standard screen with my Shoei NXR lid.

I think it is a sports bike, but one for grown ups!

Also as regards the screen I too have an MRA Vario which is a lot better than the OEM screen, and works very well, particularly on the motorway.
