After the referendum

Thought it time to bring this back to the front. Same views, same arguments, same people (generally). Reading it should save some re-posting :augie

And as for the comments about another referendum - here it is. That time has arrived.

I think that if it's a NO then there's going to be a lot of bickering over DevoMax and the inequalities between the rest of the UK. I feel there will be a lot of noise from the English over devolved powers and the Barnet formula.
If it's a YES then the arguments will go on for ages about the splitting of the assets, and probably there will be a fair bit of social unrest in Scotland if the result is very tight either way.
A can of worms has been opened, this issue will not die down for a very long time.

I'm even planning my own embargo in the event of a YES. I have already started to withdraw my investments from Scottish based companies, I have closed a bank account with a Scottish based bank, I have even developed a taste for Bushmills whiskey and the English stuff as well. Shortbread also dropped (just as well as I want to lose weight). My local butcher makes excellent haggis which I have often taken up north to family and friends, I will stop exporting that. That'll learn ya to break up my country :D
hmm, you stil have your country, its called England.

Is indy 2 really gonna happen? Trout face Sturgeon needs to wind her neck in and stop causing trouble as we have enough on our plate with brexit. Now sinn fein are calling for a border poll in Norn Irn. This is gonna end up a very fucked up country.

Oh Dear, can I stand listening to pundits on the TV for the next 2 years . . .

This time its more complicated as its "Scotland in or out of the UK" X "Scotland in or out of the European Union".

It was interesting to see some Fife Fishermen saying "We are all for an Independent Scotland, but we don't want to be in the EU as they have ruined our Fishing Industry - therefore we're voting NO".

There is no guarantee that Scotland can remain in or re-join the EU any more than there is a guarantee that the Westminster Gov will get any sort of acceptable deal from its negotiations. To call an Independence Referendum as the first step is putting the cart before the horse.

Damn - I've started already . . QUICK, lighten the mood . . .

Remember the Six-Nations Rugby ???
