What aftermarket exhausts are you all running on water-cooled 1200s?

I have a Pipe Werx end can that came with the bike, (2017). It sounds great but is ugly, even compared to the standard can.

The Akrpovic looks nice but my God it's expensive!

Akra for me, bought secondhand from this site. About half new price and in tiptop condition. Sounds as good as it looks

If you are quick there are some great deals on GPR from gprdirect2011 on Ebay at the moment.

They are pretty well priced anyway and, at the moment, they are clearing "old" stock including Euro 3 GS cans.

I looked at some while on holiday in Italy and the quality of them looks pretty good (at least good enough for me to have taken a punt on one they had listed on eBay last week).

I have not received it yet (coming on Wednesday with a bit of luck) but worth a look??

I have a black Ginannelli on mine. Sounds/looks pretty good.

Beowulf - a fifth of the price of an Akro, looks sweeter and sounds just as nice. Can't understand why they're not more popular - British aswell if that matters to you

They are popular, so are Fuel, just generally not on bikes like the GS.

A mate of mine has that Termi in Carbon, it looks fantastic and very rare here in Ireland

Sent from a U11

Why though?
When you buy a GS and bend over for 18k the extra inch up your backside isn't going to make you hurt even more. Your hole is already in pieces doesn't matter how many. That was my logic.

Have a GPR - basically a generic slip on with the correct connecting pipe and down facing baffle.
MAKE SURE they send you the right one though as they have a habit of shipping it with a generic straight exit baffle which on a long run will melt your indicator, pannier and number plate.

Great sounding pipe, well made and ridiculously light.

yip you are right,my leo vince has melted my number plate ,i have put a new plate on with a bit of steel stuck to the back to deflect the heat

Ok. I got my GS second hand and purchased the exhaust some months after getting the bike so I guess my mental bumhole was even less well lubricated

It is amazing that nothing seems to beat a standard exhaust on a GS nowadays - shame its so ugly.

There is a good article here showing eight exhausts tested on a 1200GS, and some are pretty terible:

My Gianelli (also make the identical Arrow) exhaust on my 1250GS has been on a dyno an was almost identical to a standard model that was on the same dyno, just under a hp down on peak but a couple of lb/ft up on torque.
