Hi -

Everything I can see on the web indicates that if you fit a Laser Duo-tone (to an 1100GS), although a revised chip can help liberate some power, it's not necessary.

So I intend not to re-chip, but at the back of my mind is the worry that perhaps the less restrictive pipe will make the mixture too lean - with a lot of fast autoroute miles ahead of me this is a concern.

Does anyone have thoughts on this?

Has anyone experienced lean running issues through changing to an aftermarket pipe?

Thanks in anticipation -

i've got a laser pipe - and i steptoe modded it - but i ran it for a good while unmodded with no problems

ive had a Laser on my 1100 for about 15k and no problems so far, no other mods carried out either like chipping

What's the Steptoe mod?

Why the ref to the l/h pannier? Is the exhast gas hotter?

Do a search in the section up there that says SEARCH. Type Staptoe mod then sit back and read (for hours and hours). Basically it's a little length of wire that works like a cat code plug without the expense. It tells your injection system to run differently depending on the fuel used or the configuration of your bike. It can help your bike to run richer without need to mess around with power commanders etc.
I don't think is the ultimate solution, but it costs naff all. Unless you buy the special version which has a yellow wire and red connectors.....there really expensive :thumb
