Aftermarket screen

Don`t bloody know!

ha - there`s another shocker for you. I don`t bloody know.

However, I would suggest that if you email NN on [email protected] saying that you are referring to the screen that Mark Hooton did the report on and consequent `mention` on UKGSER I am sure he would do everything he could to help you - he might even tell you about any special launch prices!

I don't want one, as mine is fine for me at 5ft 10.:rob Would be handy to know, for anyone taking your advice and buying one.:thumb

Yep it's a power bronze

Just looked at their website and Some interesting new bits being developed. Some very nice :drool
some - in the eye of the beholder.:barf

http://www.bmwr1200gs.eu/

Not shown are some in fill panels which are on pre order. Can't see any pics.

The screen that Mark has tested is £98 - but none in stock, available within 28 days

Opinions ?

Their hugger's £85..

I see Nippy is now listing these £85:)

looks like if you want a greater range of tints you need to look at Powerbronze site but you pay a bit extra.

Nice to see an aftermarket screen for what imo. is a reasonable price:thumb

looks good

that looks like it will be perfect, mine has a crack from the L/H lowest fixing point. which is a bit disapointing after only 5 weeks.

So if I cant get it replaced by BMW I shall be looking to buy one of these once they are out.

Thanks for the info Terry :thumb2

Not sure that is the case - fairly sure I read that they only do it in clear and light tint?

Works a treat

I bought one from the PowerBronze website when it was on special offer..

Here is my report.

I have found that it makes the whole riding experience much more comfortable. The extra height has moved the wind from lower helmet to the very top reduced the wind noise dramatically. My helmet has never been quiet but this has made a huge difference...

I am 6ft 1" have the seat on the lower setting and the screen on its highest setting. Will try the higher seat setting now too and see how that works out and report back.

The extra width has had a slightly odd affect of moving the wind from the outside 1/4 of my tummy to the outside edge and at time it felt like I was being tickled but the bonus was in driving rain last night I stayed way dryer than I did with the normal screen...

Quality wise as previously stated its slightly lower than then BMW one and the edges are sharper hence why they give you the UGLY and never to be seen on my bike plastic piping...

Hope this helps...:bounce1

My PB Light Tint arrived today will try to get a ride before going on my hols. From the reports it does seem to cure the wind noise but I'll find out soonish..

hmmm....I'm sure when I last looked it said only Clear and Light Tint on the page you referenced

They say this here
http://www.powerbronze.co.uk/818268/Flip.category

Thanks, I've got one on order too.

With a low seat on lowest setting and the screen up full, I found that a) it was quite noisy and b) that I was not being buffeted as such....more of a buzzing sensation on the top edge of my lid. Whilst this is better than the buffeting I used to get from my CB, it does make my vision slightly buzzy\blurred at...errr... a little bit over motorway speeds...errhhm :bobby

I`ve used yards of that stuff on several kit cars i`ve built in order to cover sharp edges for sva test ( a sort of individual type approval test) and it looks s**t. Completely ridiculous as most people rip it off once the test has been passed:blast

You can sand off any sharp edges using wet and dry paper 1500 - 2000 grit. keep it wet and take your time and then polish back up afterwards with a bit of cutting compound.Farecla is good stuff.

Very odd:confused:

I`m kind of torn between a light tint and a dark tint as mine will be grey and I like the dark tint on Nutty`s:thumb

They certainly maxed out on width cus at full lock its just touches the mirror stem and hand guard but to no detriment I can see.

Off to Barton Bike Night on this windy evening should give it a good test.
