Quick Q,

I'm looking to add some aftermarket lights to wethead

I understand that unlike the old hexhead, you can plug them in, but they need some coding done to get them to work

(assuming i use the P&P options that are at the front end of the bike)

If i were to fit spots and a hexezcan, would i still need to get them coded to work, or will the hexezan do it all for me ?

I went with non oem spots and a hex ezcan that I picked up 2nd hand on here. No coding required on the bike, you just need to configure the hex ezcan once during setup and you're good to go. :thumb

There is the ezcan or ther is another similar device , a search of ezcan threads should elisit an answer on that and no configuration needed the spots will work off the wonder wheel.

Can you purchase the required wiring loom/switch from BMW? The motoscan ap will allow you to change the coding to turn them on. I have considered doing this to my bike. I have found the coding option in the motoscan ap but not sure about the wiring and switch requirements. Is the oem swich separate or part of the handlebar switch?

If your going oem, you have to get a switch, which comes with the required loom it replaces the front cover of the LH mirror mount

then you have to pay the stealer for a coding session :)

No coding need for aftermarket, only coding need for OEM because of new on off switch, if you have GSA code is already done for oem.

How many lights is too many?
