I'm looking for a new graphics card to drive a 20" TFT monitor :bounce1
My current motherboard (Gigabyte GA-7VRXP) has a 4X AGP socket. Can I fit an 8X AGP card and expect it to work OK, or do I have to look for a 4X AGP card :nenau
All advice appreciated :bow
Thanks :thumb

Generally, the 8x card should just drop back to 4x speed and work fine.

I've just done the same thing.

put an ATI 9600 8xAGP into my ECS K7 4xAGP board.

works fine - and the graphics card will work in a later board when i upgrade

however - there is still a bottleneck at the agp skt.

i'm tempted with a new mobo and conroe soon........ :thumb

It's good to know it works upside-down too

so thats what was wrong . :mmmm

i 've turned the pc upside down on the floor - cos the text on the screen was upside down.

i think its cos its a uk power supply and the voltage sine waves are 180 out of phase ;)
