Kenny Richey denies alleged assault on his son

The Scot, who spent 21 years on death row in the US, is accused of attacking his son with a baseball bat in Minnesota.

Former death row Scot Kenny Richey has denied hitting his son with a baseball bat during an alleged assault in the United States.

The 45-year-old was arrested near his son Sean's house in Minnesota in January.

Papers from Crow Wing District Court revealed he was charged with second degree assault, making threats and domestic assault, before being released on bail.

Sean Richey is said to have told police that he and his dad had been drinking beer and play wrestling, before Richey senior grew angry and threatened him, before attacking him.

On Wednesday night, court officials confirmed Kenny Richey had denied all the charges against him. A hearing has now been scheduled to start on March 8.
