Ayup lads n lasses,
I'm thinking of buying an Airhawk seat cushion before i go to Croatia n back, are they as good as they say:blagblah or shall i use good o'l sheepskin(again)??? :blast

Personally I wouldn't ride a big distance without one, but be warned they take a bit of getting used to as there is a bit of movement on acceleration and braking etc as the air moves beneath your arse, they alo take a fair bit of fine tuning to get just the right amount of air in them. They will also raise your seat height a little which may cause problems if you can't get your feet securley on the ground under normal circumstances.

Having never tried a sheep skin I can't make a comparison but no doubt someone will be along shortly to advise.

But the airhawk gets the thumbs up from me.

tried one for six months it now resides on the floor of my cubed:blast, i use a £11 sheep skin and can sit on it all day. every one is different:rob

Dunno?

I thought my sheepskin was great, waterproof, comfy and a great talking point wherever you went as it looks so different! Used an Airhawk last year for our big trip, as previous poster said, takes a bit off getting used too, can move about under braking etc, just have a squishy feeling under your arse all the time!!
We are off to Constanta, Romania in two weeks and to be honest I dont know which one to use, both have there merits, if you have some spare dosh then buy one, if not then dont worry and stick with woolly!
Sorry not to have a definitive answer for you!
Cheers.

Airhawk is great for long motorway drags, but not so good for the twisties as you move around too much, even with minimal air in (as it should have anyway). Mine's been collecting dust in the garage for 3 years now

as said.... Great for motorway. It also tends to raise you a bit too much on sportsbikes. It goes better on the GS than on a VFR say.

I use mine every year on tour.

Try getting a disused one from the lot here or ebay as £100 is too much money to spend on it. Quality is excellent though.

Yes I had one for last 2 years.......it was very good.Just sold it on e-bay due to upgrading to a Touratech seat hope I havent made a mistake !!!:ronno:confused:

I have a Touratech Kahedo low seat on my GSA to help my little legs touch the ground and without the Airhawk I would be in arse agony after 50 miles

Cheers for the reminder (Miff). Shall persue that.
I don't fancy the thought of leaving an Airhawk on the seat, if I go leave the 'bike anywhere. Maybe that's just what growing up in S-o-T (Smoke on Stench), does for you..

We don't bother with the straps as they don't slip on the seat and too much hassle to keep removing. We just roll it up and put in your helmet or in the topbox when we leave the bike.

Found with the sheepskin a lot of welsh blokes talking to me and winking at me:D:D
