Mitas E07 Dakar Rear Tyre

Phew!

Probably missed loads of stuff but that is the main!

Easyest is to say std bits are tank, engine block and, er, the horn! now't else!

There are also loads of little carbon-fibre machined bits that you prob can't see in the pics which include the headlight ring, screen mount, speedo/ignition bracket, rectifier and silencer bracket etc.

All in all, I am very pleased with the result and my missus is also very pleased that I have finished it!
But there is always another project............

Hope you have enjoyed the show!

Cheers, Rick

You left out the most important part... does she ride as good as she looks??

A stunning bike ...

... and a very personal statement of intent; I shudder to think of the cost but suspect that's overshadowed by the ride :clap

One query; why does the gear change require a 3 pivot set-up ? Surely the protruding gearbox shaft is crying out to have a gear lever attached direct :nenau

I'm sure there is a technical explanation but would love to know.

I dread to think of the cost. But I bet you could have bought a new 800 for what that has cost.

But it is lovely.

An inspiration to us all. I'm aiming to change my '79 twin plugged RT into something looking different. Some great ideas coming along. I can only dream about achieving such a high standard.

Project Cost?

Rocky,

No offence taken!

Cost? If I added it all up, I could probably have bought a new GS, maybe (probably!!) even a 1200.

But I haven't added it up.

I don't intend to because:

a) it will probably scare me and
b) its paid for and I'm not bankrupt and I have the bike. ( who needs that new kitchen??)

This build was never about a budget, as I think I said in one of the first posts, it was about scratching that itch.

If you have read down to here you must have it as well and I don't really need to say much more.

As someone asked in an earlier post - does it ride as well as it looks, yes it does.
Does it make my heart sing, yes it does.

It was very cheap to build in my book.

Ride with a smile.

Cheers, Rick
