Airhead Rally Special (an old for sale ad with history)

Thanks JB - Having moved house a few times since purchase I’ve misplaced some of the paperwork that came with it. I recall there was a c€2500 Euro bill from Matt Becker for the Engine work

https://www.bmwboxersupplies.com/

...and the thread when it first came to light on this forum which has some of the build photos

I know Chris had the sister bike but who was it that bought it into the UK - I’m thinking it was a BMW dealer principle

Sales Manager at SPC brought it from Belgium

I've been to Mats shop and he dose some great work on 2 valves and he can rebuild an entire engine blindfolded

Did you get a printout of the power curve? Would be interesting to see.....

I have it somewhere, it was also posted on here...

The engine on that bike is all about the torque... it has the high torque cam and although the power and torque are nothing special you get all the torque early in the revs that combined with a quick action throttle means you can get that power down quickly.

It saved me many times in my early off-roading, you’re knackered not concentrating, in the wrong gear and the trail suddenly turns into a technical uphill. Just twist and thump, thump ,thump go :D

That combine with a wonderful clutch means you have amazing control when needing to find and get traction

Sounds awesome.

What do we want? Torque
When do we want it? Now

Can’t really call it a torque curve more a all at once dump :D

Thank Gawd for that - I was seriously conflicted. Mind, if the sale falls through...
No, stop now

The one million pounds has been transferred, pick up has been arranged and a nice chap has some great plans for the bike...

It’s been good to talk it through with all the interested parties

I hope you’ve told the new owner to keep us up to date - great bike, I have one quite similar but as time goes by I’m probablygetting too buggered to make the best of it.

Just noticed the pictures have dropped of the thread.. Here they are again.
