I have an early 80's airhead gearbox which is now stripped down to casing. I have removed the shift lever seal, and when I look through the shift lever hole in the gearbox housing there is what looks like a plumbing olive which can pivot.
Would anyone know (from my poor description) whether this is part 23 11 1 233 383 and called "suspension" on the ETK/EPC (e.g. http://www.realoem.com/bmw/showparts.do?model=0276&mospid=47840&btnr=23_0256&hg=23&fg=05)?
Also, does this part simply push out and push back in? I ask as I'm wondering whether I should remove it prior to cleaning the casing?
Thanks for any advice/help
