So, having tracked a lot of the discussions around the merits (and otherwise) of both the Arai Tour-X (Tour-X2) and BMW Enduro helmets with the intent to pick up a 'summer' helmet to supplement my Roof R010, I've just come across the new Airoh S4 ...

Anyone got any first hand experience of the S4 that they'd like to share ... for 99quid it seems a bargain, reasonably well made and a viable alternative to the others, especially as after all the discussions of wind-noise, etc I don't really see this as my primary helmet.

Looks OK in Titanium or Black as well ... http://www.dirtbikexpress.co.uk/view_product.php?c_id=1&sc_id=1&p_id=302

I've also been seaching for a cheap Tour-x alternative for greenlaning trips (I use a System 4 for my main helmet). as well as the Airoh there is also this;:

But I haven't been able to see one in the flesh as yet.

PS. My head is worth a lot to me but all these lids are made to a standard, and price is not always the best benchmark to assess safety (or quality) against.

I was browsing in Bikersworld the other day and inspected said helmet. The term junk came to mind!

have an airoh matisses think thats how you spell it if you get one your going to need some ear plugs as mine whistles like a bars.urd so much for the packageing claiming that they want to build the quietest helmets on the market :spitfire

Give em a try, they can't be that bad.

I mean I paid 350 for a Tour X three years ago, and I can safely say it's the worst helmet I've had. It's drafty, noisy, and it absolutely bloddy kills my ears, I had to buy different cheek pads which didn't help, I'm going to trim the foam in the cheek pads to see if that helps.....but it looks good ! :thumb

Horses for Courses I'd say.
